Julian Treasure is a ‘sound evangelist’, author, and international public speaker on sound. He founded The Sound Agency after a 25-year career in marketing and contract publishing. Julian develops The Sound Agency’s tools and IP, liaises with clients, and drives the company’s strategy through his thought leadership and his reputation.
Julian’s first book, Sound Business, is the seminal work on creating effective business sound. The book is now in its second edition and has also been published in Japanese. His second book, How To Be Heard, is a practical guide to improving the vital personal communication skills of listening and speaking. Julian also has five TED.com talks about sound and communication, which have been heard over 70 million times.
Julian is frequently featured as a sound and communication expert in the world’s media, including TIME magazine; The Economist; and The Times. He is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Marketors, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a long time musician, remembering with affection his two 1981 BBC John Peel sessions (the bands were Transmitters and Missing Presumed Dead).
